Multibeam Sonar

Multibeam sonar measurements are a type of hydrographic survey used to measure and map the topography of the seabed. The system operates by emitting sound waves toward the seabed and measuring the time it takes for the waves to bounce back to the vessel. By processing this data, 3D images can be generated that illustrate the depth and shape of the seabed.

Multibeam sonars are often employed in projects where it is essential to have a comprehensive understanding of the entire seabed, such as in sand replenishment, harbors and canals, shipwreck exploration, and the mapping of underwater cables. This advanced technology provides detailed insights that are critical for effective planning and execution in marine environments.

Hydrography

Hydrography is the specialty of Noord-survey. Using precise sonars and GNSS positioning, we can create high-resolution recordings of the seabed and underwater objects.
